Event Sponsorship

Through our Events Sponsorship Program, we aim to provide financial and in-kind support to organisations conducting festivals and other special events, which generate tourism activity and increase the public profile of the City of Port Adelaide Enfield.

Event Sponsorship Guidelines
Events Information Kit


The sponsorship program receives applications twice per year. Sponsorship applications will be assessed by the Grants and Sponsorship Committee of Council who usually meet in July and November. We aim to notify you within four weeks following the committee meeting.

Applications for Round Two 2019 open on Sunday 1 September  2019
and close at 3pm on Monday 30 September 2019.
   Sponsorship is available for events to be held between 1 January 2020 and 30 September 2020.

What Sponsorship is available?

General Events - Sponsorship of up to $5000
For events to be held in the City of PAE attracting between 1000 – 8000 attendees on any one day.

Major Events - Sponsorship of up to $12,000
For events to be held in the City of PAE attracting more than 8000 attendees on any one day, and that will deliver significant and measureable economic benefit to the City of PAE. Consideration may be given for a higher funding amount under limited circumstances. Contact the City of PAE for more information.

Eligibility & Assessment criteria

Incorporated bodies (or appropriately auspiced bodies) who can provide evidence of Public Liability Insurance to the value of at least $10 million and an ABN, or a completed ATO Statement by Supplier form are eligible to apply.

Events will be assessed against how well they meet the following criteria:

  • Attract tourists and visitors to the City of PAE;
  • Return economic benefit to the City of PAE;
  • Facilitate community participation and involvement;
  • Add diversity to the City of PAE’s own event calendar;
  • Are safe, accessible, well managed and promoted;
  • Are sustainable and have capacity to be repeated or become ongoing;
  • Involve and engage with local businesses, artists and community groups;
  • Generate media exposure for the City and create an opportunity to acknowledge the City of PAE’s support.

If you are thinking about organising a community event within the City of Port Adelaide Enfield, the Events Information Kit is the best place to start. The Information Kit contains useful information about how to access relevant Council services and 'best practice' guidelines for conducting professional & successful events. How to apply

We provide an online application tool to help you prepare and submit your application. It's called SmartyGrants and it's available via the Apply Now button below. Prior to preparing your application please read PAE's Event Sponsorship Guidelines and Event Information Kit. If you're a new user, you will need to start by registering a new account. Once registered and logged in you will be redirected to the "Before you Begin" page where you can start your application.

Applicants can only apply online when funding rounds are open. Support or access to computers and the internet can be provided if required.

Success Stories

Adelaide Kite Flyers Association was approved $25,000 to support the Adelaide International Kite Festival 2019.

Semaphore Mainstreet Association was approved $5,000 to support the Feast on the Foreshore 2018.
