Last week we welcomed a delegation from Luzhou City in China to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between our two regions based around cooperation and trade opportunities.
There are also opportunities to grow tourism between the two regions and learn from one another in the areas of City Management, environment and sustainability.
Whilst our two cities are a long way apart in distance, we share a number of things in common, including that we are both port cities and close to winemaking areas. Luzhou is known internationally as the Wine capital of China, and the City of Port Adelaide is the gateway for much of South Australia’s wine that is exported to China and the world.
We’re working to forge new working relationships with the growing economy of China to increase investment and job creation in our region.
Thank you to the Australia China Friendship and Development Association, especially the Executive Officer Mr Stephen Chen for linking the City of Port Adelaide Enfield and
Over the coming year our Economic Development Team will be working to connect businesses across our two regions and start prosperous business and investment opportunities.
We look forward to continued friendship and working together into the future.
