Our City of PAE volunteers do an amazing job and between them give over 3500 hours per month back to the community. Last night we thanked this year's volunteers for everything they do, as without them we would be unable to provide so many fantastic services for our community.
Last year, our community bus drivers transported 40,679 passengers over 85,000km throughout the city in areas not serviced by public transport.
Last year, the Grafters removed over 15,000m2 of graffiti to keep our streets clean and this continues to be a free service for the community.
Community vans are driven by volunteer drivers who transport aged and disabled people to shops, social activities and more, five days a week.
Medical transport help to reduce financial stress for residents who need regular visits to medical practitioners.
Community Centre and library volunteers provide invaluable support to our four community centres and five libraries, including running workshops, computer assistance, activities and much more.
Community Service volunteers help to combat social inclusion within the community.
Volunteers assist our SRF staff with social outings for frail and disabled residents.
Beach mat volunteers monitor access mats and ensure they are available for use.
History volunteers help to organise and catalogue our extensive historical collection as well as providing research support for the public.
Tourism volunteers assist our Economic Development and Tourism staff to showcase the region and guide visitors to the best spots.
Reconnect youth volunteers help us to run programs with our youth teams.
The Flourish Team help people to stay fit and healthy through a variety of programs including community foodies and fit for free.
Conservation and environmental volunteers help to keep our streets, natural resources and waterways clean.
We would like to extend a special thank you to Joanne Galley, Francoise Penaluna and former Councillor Ray Guscott who last night receive awards for 20 years of volunteering within the City of PAE.
