JP Services

The main role of a Justice of the Peace (JP) is to act as an independent and objective witness to documents that are used for official or legal purposes.

  • Attest or witness the execution of a document
  • Take an affidavit for use in court
  • Take a statutory declaration
  • Certify a true copy of an original document

Meetings with a JP will take place

A person’s documents and dealings with a J.P. are confidential and your meeting with a JP will take place in a room where others can not see your documents or overhear your conversation.

A JP is available at the Civic Centre, 163 St Vincent St, Port Adelaide, on Wednesdays from 9am-12pm.

Justices of the Peace are also available at the Port Magistrates Court.  Locations and opening hours of the Court is available on the Suburban Courts website.
