An Elector Representation Review is a process undertaken to determine whether the community would benefit from an alteration to Council’s current composition or ward structure in order to meet future requirements.
The review contains a number of steps and importantly includes two opportunities for the public to contribute to the process.
Council prepared a Representation Options Paper that examines the advantages and disadvantages of the various options available in regards to the composition and structure of Council, and the division of the Council area into wards.
The Representation Review Options Paper was available for Public Consultation from 21 July until 5pm on 2 September 2016.
Council considered the results of the first round of public consultation concerning the above options paper at its meeting on 13 September 2016 and provided in principle support for a proposal which could be carried into effect in order for the second report to be prepared.
At its meeting on 13 October 2016 Council endorsed the second report which presents a proposal of the future structure of Council. Public Consultation on the Representation Review Report will commence on Thursday 20 October 2016 and conclude at 5pm on Friday 11 November 2016.
Interested members of the community are invited to make a written submission expressing their views on the proposed future composition and structure of Council. Submissions will be accepted until 5.00pm on the 11 November 2016. Submissions should be addressed to the following;
Chief Executive Officer
City of Port Adelaide Enfield
PO Box 110
PORT ADELAIDE SA 5015
or send via email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Any person who makes a written submission will be afforded the opportunity to address Council, either in person or by a representative, in support of their submission.
