Inclusive Communities Plan

The City of PAE has resolved to endorse a draft Inclusive Communities Plan for a period of community engagement.

The purpose of the Inclusive Communities Plan is to provide an integrated whole of Council approach and commitment to strengthen inclusion and access for all, through some key themes being:

  • commitment
  • advocacy
  • culture
  • built environment
  • products and services
  • communications and marketing
  • information communication technology

We have a strong history of developing plans that focus on access and inclusion. This Inclusive Communities Plan 2019-2024, and highlights our continued commitment to access and inclusion in all aspects of community life. This draft plan is intended to meet Council’s obligations under the new Disability Inclusion Act 2018.

To assist us, we would like your feedback on the proposal to adopt the draft plan which will be in effect until 2024, and during this time will guide Council and hold us accountable to improving access and inclusion in its operations and community.

Or you may request us to mail or email it to you if you have a drop box, or you can collect a hard  copy from a City of PAE office.

Your feedback is important, and will be used to guide our decision making in relation to the proposal. Submissions can be provided in a number of ways

  • In person at one of the community meetings- see below for session dates and times and book into your preferred session
  • By making an appointment to meet with one of the team at the Port Adelaide Civic Centre
  • By telephone to staff involved with the Inclusive Communities Plan- 8405 6600
  • Send an email to consultation@cityofpae.sa.gov.au     
  • Post comments to PO Box 110, Port Adelaide SA 5015
  • Hand delivering your comments to a City of PAE office

If making a written submission, please clearly headed ‘Inclusive Communities Plan, and include your name, address and contact information.  Please note, all formal submissions will become public documents upon receipt.

The closing date for feedback is 5pm Friday 18 October 2019.
