Peninsula stormwater update

We are putting the finishing touches to a couple of major stormwater projects outlined as a part of the Lefevre Peninsula Stormwater Management Plan.

The $1.7 million Goldsworthy Road stormwater drain has been extended from Old Pelham Road to the Hart Street Pump Station. This pipe has been almost doubled in size to 825mm to allow for quicker flow of stormwater away from local streets. The upgrade is designed to improve drainage in the local area and improve the capacity of the local stormwater network to reduce the frequency of stormwater ponding in the road.

The $2.5 million Anthony Street stormwater drainage upgrade was designed to capture stormwater that was building up on Military Road then overflowing in to the stormwater system in Wills Street and exacerbating stormwater ponding at the local low spot on the corner of Adelaide and Wills Streets in Largs Bay. The outlet pipe was almost doubled in size to 900mm to allow stormwater to move quicker through the system.

Once construction of these projects are completed in the next few weeks, our stormwater construction crews will then be moving to projects in Port Adelaide and Ottoway. To learn more about all of these projects visit our stormwater projects page.
