Neighbourhood Gatherings

Local, fun and creative gatherings this Summer.

Things will be a bit different this festive season. But we have a lot to be grateful for, and summer is the perfect season to catch up with your neighbours.

If you want to organise a neighbourhood get-together this festive season or beyond, we want to make it as simple and easy as possible.

We can help by:
* Funding a road closure for eligible local streets between 14 November 2020 and 30 June 2021
* Covering the cost of insurance for small neighbour get-togethers between 14 November 2020 and 30 June 2021
* Providing $50 vouchers for individuals and $100 vouchers for groups to get supplies for gatherings held between 14 November 2020 and 30 January 2021

Neighbourhood gatherings help to bring local communities together and give everyone a chance to meet the people who live around them.

Your neighbourhood gathering will need to be held in a public space like a local park or garden, footpath or on the street with appropriate closures in place. Please note that with currently rapidly changing circumstances related to restrictions and gatherings in SA, processing road closure applications will take a bit longer than normal. If you were seeking to arrange a road closure for a pre-Christmas gathering, it is advised you consider a local park as your venue.

More information about how to organise and get support for your gathering is available in the Neighbourhood Gatherings Information guide (PDF, 4239.26 KB)

We're currently accepting expressions of interest for this initiative- tell us more about your planned gathering by filling out this form: Neighbourhood Gatherings form
