The development section consists of Planning and Building teams which consist of Urban Planners, Building Surveyors and Planning Inspectors. A Heritage Advisor is available every Tuesday to provide advice concerning heritage related development.

A development application must be lodged for any activity which is identified as development under the Development Act, 1993.

A development approval may include any of and/or all of the following consents depending on what is proposed:

  • Development plan consent
  • Building rules consent
  • Consent for division of land.
