WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO WITH THIS INFORMATION?
This consultation is part of a wider project which focuses on our active recreation facilities.
What are active recreation facilities?
For the purpose of this project the term active recreation facilities refer to the physical assets which are provided for the community within open space. These are free to access facilities and include facilities such as playgrounds, half courts, skate parks, and fitness stations.
These facilities are important for the community as they support various health and wellbeing outcomes such as childhood education and skill development, youth engagement and social inclusion, healthy lifestyles and active aging.
What does the project include?
The City of Port Adelaide Enfield is currently reviewing the provision and planning of these facilities to ensure that these facilities meet the diverse needs of the community and respond to the changing demographic and expectations of the community.
This will result in the development of an Active Recreation Facilities Needs Assessment which will guide the future provision, development and management of playground and other active recreation facilities over the next 5-10 years.
Further information on the active recreation facilities needs assessment project will be provided at a later date.
