We have prepared a Master Plan for Edward Smith & LJ Lewis Reserves on Grand Junction Rd, Northfield. The Master Plan will guide the future development of the reserves in order to enhance and realise the full potential of these significant open space and recreation assets. The actions identified in this Master Plan will be implemented as funding is secured.
We would like to thank everyone who has been involved in this process.
We were successful in securing funding through the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing Grassroots Football, Cricket and Netball grant program to construct the new shared use sports building identified within the final master plan. This will be located between LJ Lewis Oval and Edward Smith Oval and will provide essential sporting infrastructure for both ovals. The design and construction for this building will commence in 2020.
At the same time we are also undertaking a review and design work for Grand North Tavern in 2020. This work intends to provide two change room facilities for Edward Smith Oval.
