Construction of the new clubhouse at Taperoo Reserve is well underway, with local Largs Bay business BluBuilt Constructions undertaking the $1.7 million project. The clubhouse will form part of the redevelopment of the old Taperoo Primary School site and will include a multi-use area, a bar and a commercial kitchen.
A local success story, BluBuilt was established in South Australia in 2010 and now employs 25 FTE as well as a number of local contractors. General Manager Owen Richards is confidant about future growth in the City of PAE, which reinforced their decision to base the business here.
“We identified the huge potential around the Port Adelaide area, taking into account the future planning objectives for redevelopment and immediate access to the main transport corridor.”
BluBuilt are currently working through expansion plans around South Australia, that include a range of projects in the civil, commercial, community and urban sectors. They are also making a long-term commitment to the City of PAE through construction of their new office and warehouse facility in Largs Bay.
Owen said, “With projects all over South Australia, Port Adelaide provides the perfect gateway to all region and it is our home. Our commitment to this area is part of our focus to grow our profile of work based on innovation and finding new ways to deliver solutions which fit the vision and brief of our client.”
The Taperoo Reserve project is part of council’s commitment to provide more sporting facilities on the Lefevre Peninsula. It is being delivered in multiple stages and includes three soccer pitches, clubroom facility, car parking and community park.
The building was designed by

The construction project was awarded to BluBuilt in July after being chosen from 11 competitive tender submissions. This will be the first job they have undertaken for the City of PAE and they were chosen due to the strength of their work in the construction of sporting facilities in South Australia.
