Home Library Service

The Home Library Service is provided free of charge to Port Adelaide Enfield residents who are unable to visit our library sites, due to difficulties associated with medical illness, age, frailty or disability. The Home Library Service van provides a monthly delivery to offer these residents all the benefits of library membership at their doorstep.

All library items are accessible through the Home Library Service. As well as books, DVDs, CDs, magazines, jigsaw puzzles and so on, we have an increasing catalogue of audiobooks available.

Contact any of our branches to register your interest and our Home Library Officer will contact you to discuss eligibility and your specific requirements.

Free access to public use computers and to the Internet is available at each of our four libraries.

To use the library computers you need a valid membership of a South Australian ‘one card’ library. You will need your library card and four digit PIN. You can make a booking in the library, book online or by phone. Bookings are made for a maximum of 60 minutes with a daily limit of two hours access.

  • Young people, under the age of 18, must have authorisation from a parent or guardian to be able to use computers in the library.
  • Visitors from interstate and overseas can be issued with a daily guest pass to use computers and the Internet. Proof of age and identity is required.
  • Customers are welcome to bring their own USB memory sticks to use with the public computers. Phones and tablets can also be connected to the computers if you have a suitable USB cable.

Computing Services

  • Printing in both black and white and colour and in A4 and A3 sizes can be done from the public use computers. There is a charge for printing and payment is made in cash via the print release machines.
  • A scanner is available for loan from the circulation desk and can be used with selected computers in the library. Alternatively, customers can scan documents directly to a USB using the photocopier/printer - see staff for assistance.
  • Headphones are available for loan from the circulation desk and we ask that customers make use of these when listening to music and other audio material on the public use computers.

Wireless Internet access

Customers can use their own WiFi enabled devices in the library, including tablets, smart phones and laptops. A valid library membership number and PIN are required to gain free WiFi access in any public library in South Australia. There is a daily download limit of 200MB.
