Prospect Road Upgrade

Prospect Road lies in the heart of an interesting and culturally diverse community and is emerging as a thriving and strong cultural precinct.

Council has recently completed a major street upgrade program that has significantly improved the road and its public realm.

These upgrades have made the area more attractive for residents and businesses and have helped to create a stronger sense of place.

The upgrades include:

  • new landscaping;
  • new paving;
  • new pedestrian crossings;
  • raised and planted medians;
  • peak hour bike lanes;
  • improved bus stops and shelters;
  • improved cul-de-sacs;
  • an improved entrance into Prospect Road from Grand Junction Road; and

public art pieces based on the theme of weaving to acknowledge and celebrate the many different cultural backgrounds of the Kilburn and Blair Athol community.
