Asset management planning is a comprehensive process to ensure delivery of Councils infrastructure services are provided in a financially sustainable manner.
An asset management plan details information about infrastructure assets including actions required to provide an agreed level of service in the most cost effective manner. Each Asset Management Plan defines the services to be provided, how the services are provided and what funds are required to provide these services.
A total of 6 Asset Management Plans have been prepared for the following asset categories,
All asset management plans have been prepared for a 20 year planning period in accordance with the International Infrastructure Management Manual. They are prepared to meet legislative and organisational requirements for sustainable service delivery and long term financial planning and reporting.
Future revisions of this asset management plan will move towards ‘advanced’ asset management using a ‘bottom up’ approach for gathering asset information for individual assets to support the optimisation of activities and programs to meet agreed service levels in a financially sustainable manner.
