The Lefevre Recreation Reserve has been home to the Semaphore Centrals Netball Club since 1972. The club currently has 300 netballers who train at this reserve on Monday nights and play in various competitions. The Club has approached Council to establish a Clubroom facility and provide a home for their members.
Clubroom Facility Proposal
The Council recognises the important contribution that the Semaphore Centrals Netball Club has provided the local community over many years. Council is considering a proposal to install a modular building for the clubrooms on the north western corner of Court 3.
The proposal also includes the grant of a lease to the Club for a proposed term of five years plus a right of renewal for a further five years. The terms of the proposed lease are outlined below:
The project is to be jointly funded by the Club and Council, grant funding will also be sought from the Office for Recreation and Sport. A report on the proposal and a plan of the area to be leased is on public display in the Civic Centre at 163 St Vincent Street, Port Adelaide and at the Council offices situated at Enfield, Greenacres, Port Adelaide and Semaphore Libraries and also on the Council’s website www.portenf.sa.gov.au
There are three lit courts on the reserve lined for tennis and netball. 2 courts are currently locked and 1 court is available to the community. The Clubroom Facility Proposal will impact activity on the community access court. Council is also seeking your feedback and ideas to increase activity on all of the courts and improve community access.
The City of Port Adelaide Enfield is now seeking community feedback on the proposed project. Please click the button below to complete a survey no later than Friday 2 December 2016. For further information please contact Paul Zimny on 8405 6736.
