A Justice of the Peace is available at the Civic Centre each Wednesday from 9am-12pm
The main role of a Justice of the Peace (JP) is to act as an independent and objective witness to documents that are used for official or legal purposes.
- Attest or witness the execution of a document
- Take an affidavit for use in court
- Take a statutory declaration
- Certify a true copy of an original document
Whenever possible your meeting with a JP will be held in a semi-private area, or in a private room.
Justices of the Peace are also available at the Port Magistrates Court. Locations and opening hours of the Court is available on the Suburban Courts website and may be impacted by COVID-19.
