Ask us to review your parking fine

When you receive a parking fine, you can view your parking fine photos to help you determine your next step.

Please note that to view the photos you will need to enter your expiation notice number and vehicle registration number. If you don't know your expiation notice number, call us on 8405 6600 so that we can look it up for you.

You can request us to review your fine if you think you have a good reason to dispute it and can provide supporting evidence. Please be aware, however, that you need to put your request in writing. This means that we can't process any requests to review a fine over the phone.

Dispute a parking fine

If you weren't driving the vehicle at the time of the offence or if you didn't own the vehicle at that time, you can fill in a Nomination Form to dispute the fine.

You can also dispute the fine informally by writing to the City of PAE and outlining the reason that you are requesting us to review it. Return your written dispute to us either by email to service@cityofpae.sa.gov.au or by post to the City of Port Adelaide Enfield, PO Box 110, Port Adelaide SA 5015. Alternatively, you can drop it off at one of our service centres:

  • Civic Centre, 163 St Vincent Street, Port Adelaide
  • Enfield Library, 1 Kensington Crescent, Enfield
  • Greenacres Library, 2 Fosters Road, Greenacres

Remember to include any documentation that is relevant to your reasons for disputing the fine – for example, an invoice for roadside assistance from the RAA or a receipt from a mechanic.

If you want to dispute the fine in court you can elect to be prosecuted by completing the appropriate section on the expiation notice and posting it to our PO box (PO Box 110 Port Adelaide SA 5015) or delivering it to one of the service centres listed above. It’s important to know that you might get a summons, which will let you know when and where to attend court.

If we decide that the documentation you submit with your request for a review is not acceptable, and if you then fail to pay the fine after we have informed you of our decision, we will issue an Expiation Enforcement Warning Notice and enforce the fine through the Fines Enforcement and Recovery Unit. You will need to pay a $65 enforcement warning fee.
