Council meetings
Council meetings take place each month and are open to the public. You can find out what's being discussed and what decisions are made from the meeting agendas and minutes.
In addition to council meetings, there are two committees that focus on special issues: the Audit and Risk Committee and the CEO Performance Development Review Committee.
Please note that if you want to attend a City of PAE meeting, you may be asked to leave the room when a confidential item is discussed, such as a staffing matters or a legal issue.
Meeting dates
Council meetings are usually held in the City of PAE Council Chambers at 62 Commercial Road, Port Adelaide at 7pm. Occasional meeting locations will be listed on this webpage. You can attend the meeting in person or watch the meeting on YouTube.

Submit a petition to council
A petition is a written document you submit to the City of PAE asking us to take action on an issue. It must:
- Be an original document
- Be legibly written or typed
- Be signed by multiple people
- Clearly set out the request or submission of the petitioners
- State the request or submission on every page
- Be delivered to the principal office (the Civic Centre) of the council
A standard petition form is available and provides a good starting point for creating your own petition. Anyone can ask the City of PAE to see a petition that's been submitted.
Make a deputation to council
You can request to speak at a City of PAE council meeting or committee meeting and ask us to take action on an issue that you care about. The formal name for speaking at a City of PAE meeting is a deputation.
Let us know if you want to make a deputation by emailing us, writing to us or completing the deputation request form. Make sure that you submit your request at least five business days before the meeting that you want to speak at.
If the Mayor approves your request to speak, the CEO will let you know when and where you can make your deputation. You will have five minutes to speak at the meeting plus some extra time to answer any questions from the Elected Members.
Vote in council elections
Elections for the positions of Mayor and all 17 Elected Members (Ward Councillors) are held every four years, and the next election is in 2026. Voting in elections is the best way to have your say and help shape the future of your area.
Workshops and Information or Briefing sessions
Our information/briefing sessions for Elected Members are generally held in the Town Hall, 34 Nile Street, Port Adelaide. These sessions enable Elected Members to better understand an issue or to explore a topic outside of the council meetings. In most cases they are open to the public, but if this is not the case it will be specified in the table below.
