The Business Fundamentals Program is a three-month program for established small and family business owners ready to grow. Open to up to 15 businesses in the City of PAE, it is offered at a subsidised fee of $50 plus GST and delivered by the South Australian Business Chamber.
The program will be delivered through a combination of group workshops and individual mentoring sessions between June and August 2026. Two of the three workshops will be delivered as full-day in-person sessions in Port Adelaide, and one delivered as a half-day virtual session.
Business Modelling, Planning and Strategies for Growth

Financial Management
9am to 1pm, Thursday 23 July, virtual via MS Teams
Sales, Marketing, and Digital Strategies
9am to 4.30pm, Thursday 27 August at Quest Port Adelaide, 10-12 North Parade, Port Adelaide
In addition to these group workshops, participants will each receive six one-to-one mentoring sessions from a business mentor. These sessions (one hour duration each) will be delivered virtually over a three-month period, and will focus on learnings, challenges and implementations of each of the three workshops.
Program FAQs
The Program is available to businesses that meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Operate a business from a physical location within the City of PAE, and/or have the principal place of business registered within the City of PAE
- Have been in operation for more than two years
- Have fewer than 100 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
The City of PAE, together with the Government of South Australia, is providing significant subsidy support to make this program accessible to our local businesses. While the program is normally valued at $3,000, successful applicants will only be required to pay $50 plus GST. Please note that only one representative per business can participate.

If your application is successful, the Program Coordinator from the South Australian Business Chamber will contact you within four business days to discuss the program details.
You will then receive an email with a payment link. Your place in the program will be confirmed once payment has been received.

The Business Fundamentals Program is designed and delivered by the South Australian Business Chamber. The program is an initiative of the Government of South Australia’s Office for Small and Family Business and the South Australian Small Business Strategy 2023 – 2030.
The South Australian Business Chamber’s team of experienced facilitators will lead the workshops and mentoring sessions. Facilitators are carefully selected based on their expertise and industry experience to best match the needs of the businesses participating in the program.
