South Australia’s History Festival is an annual statewide event exploring South Australia’s history. Held throughout May each year, the History Festival explores the state’s places and spaces, as well as the stories, collections and ideas that make us who we are.
At the City of Port Adelaide Enfield, we have a rich heritage. Much of our identity is derived from our unique and historic places and spaces, which create a sense of place for our residents and a great destination for visitors. Our city is also filled with landscapes and places that are of importance to the local Kaurna community.
The theme of the History Festival in 2026 is "Connections."
From the threads that bind family stories, places and peoples — to the lines that link past to present, and South Australia to the world. Join us for the 2026 History Festival as we unearth the extraordinary in the everyday: the ties that brought communities together, the movements that changed this land, and the relationships that continue to shape our identity. Dive into tours, talks, exhibitions, walks and workshops across PAE this May.
