Business Activation Grant
OPENING on Monday, November 2
Up to $1,000
The Business Activation Grant program aims to support local businesses and venues to activate their space, in alignment with select large-scale Council events delivered across the year. It encourages businesses to work with performers and creative practitioners to deliver a critical mass of activity around significant events.
In 2026-27 Business Activation Grants are offered across two rounds in alignment with the following Council events:
- River Night Walk in Port Adelaide on 14-16 August 2026 - round opens on 1 July 2026 and closes on 24 July 2026
- New Year's Eve celebration at Semaphore Foreshore on 31 December 2026 - round opens on 2 November 2026 and closes on 30 November 2026 (see event brief below)
Creative Industry Grant

The Creative Industry Grant program aims to support creative practitioners of all disciplines to grow their practice and deliver projects that contribute to PAE’s vision for a strong, creative, impactful and sustainable arts ecology.
Events Grant

Up to $15,000*
The Events Grant program aims to help create a community that is inclusive, cohesive, creative and prosperous through the support of a program of accessible and diverse community events and festivals across the City.
Neighbourhood Events - up to $1,000
Community Events - up to $7,500
Regional Events - up to $15,000
There are 3 funding rounds available each year:
- Round 1 – opens on 1 April 2026 and closes on 31 May 2026 – recommended for events held between July 2026 and November 2026
- Round 2 – opens on 1 August 2026 and closes on 30 September 2026 – recommended for events held between December 2026 and March 2027
- Round 3 – opens on 1 December 2026 and closes on 31 January 2027 – recommended for events held between April 2027 and June 2027
Heritage Grant

Up to $5,000
The Heritage Grant program aims to encourage owners of Local Heritage Places and Representative Buildings to maintain, conserve or restore places of local significance.
Placemaking Grant
OPEN until funding exhausted.
Up to $7,500*
The Placemaking Grant program aims to support the creation and delivery of projects in public spaces across the city. These include initiatives that improve how we feel and use our public spaces and how we can enhance the way they look, work and feel, and also how we celebrate our heritage. The program gives the community the opportunity to make their City a place where people love to be through placemaking projects of all sizes and shapes.
Grants of up to $7,500 will be available for community organisations and businesses with an ABN.
Grants of up to $1,000 will be available for individuals or informal groups without an ABN.
Significant and Regulated Trees Assistance Scheme

Up to $1,000 (or up to $2,000 for applicants eligible for concessions)
The Significant and Regulated Trees Assistance Scheme aims to encourage the retention and protection of large trees in our neighbourhoods by helping landowners with tree maintenance costs on their properties.
Small Business Growth Grant

The Small Business Growth Grant program aims to foster the growth and success of small businesses by co-investing in strategic projects that align to three categories: Market Expansion, Product/Service Diversification, Digital Transformation.
How to apply
We provide an online application tool called SmartyGrants to help you prepare and submit your application. If you're a new user, you will need to start by registering a new account. Once registered and logged in you’ll be redirected to the "Before you begin" page where you can start your application.
Applicants can only apply online when funding rounds are open. Support or access to computers and the internet can be provided if required.
