The engagement activities that we undertake with our community in PAE vary depending on the topic, complexity, legislative requirements, level of community interest and influence that stakeholders may have over final outcomes.

Community engagement can include informing (communicating), consulting and participating. Our engagement work is guided by our Communications and Engagement Framework – Participate PAE and the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) Spectrum of Public Participation.
The participation spectrum sets out our participation goals, what our promise is to the community and what it might look like to you. In most cases, we will use a combination of techniques to ensure that our engagement processes are effective and genuine.
We aim to ensure that residents, community and stakeholders have access to the information they need to participate in engagements. We want to make sure that participants understand what we do, what decisions we make and what the outcomes of the engagement process are.
We make efforts to 'close the loop' with project contributors and followers. We may occasionally send information to acknowledge a contribution, provide key updates on engagement and project processes and outcomes.
