Over the next few weeks you might see drones in the sky as we conduct detailed inspections of our buildings roofs, gutters and downpipes to ensure our buildings remain safe.
The City of PAE owns over 350 buildings ranging including community centres, halls, stadiums, libraries, sports clubs, public toilets, sheds, and more. Over 90 of these buildings have been identified to need a roof condition audit inspection due to their life expectancy. This will happen over the next few weeks.
The utilisation of the drones reduces internal resources with only one person at a time required on site and removing the safety risk of staff having to climb around at height. We will also save 2 hours inspection time per building, which really adds up!
This is just one of the ways we are using technology to provide better services to the community. We are excited to be able to use drones to inspect our buildings more efficiently and cost-effectively, while ensuring our staff and contractors remain safe.
So if you see a drone flying around, that’s us and our contractor Azure Integrity. If you have questions we ask that you please don't interrupt the drone operator as they need to concentrate on what they are doing. Instead please give us a call on 8405 6600.
