This week is National Homelessness Week, and we are proud to lead initiatives to support our community through our Homelessness Connections Project. Locally, the City of PAE supports 30 to 40 individuals experiencing homelessness at any time. Over the past year, our dedicated Homelessness Connections Officer, Nathan, has assisted 140 individuals through 820 interactions, providing crucial guidance and assistance. We also support fundraising activities such as CHATS in Cars, and Walk a Mile which takes place this Friday to raise money for the Hutt St Centre. We appreciate all donations- make a donation here. Last week, we also launched the Zero Homelessness Project, which is an initiative that aims to create clear pathways to recovery for those experiencing homelessness, marking a significant step towards sustainable solutions. Council staff also work on collaborative efforts, including the SA Local Government Homelessness Network, working with partners like the City of Charles Sturt, Adelaide North West Homelessness Alliance, Department of Human Services, and SAPOL to develop holistic, long-term responses to homelessness. You can help by reporting incidents of homelessness by calling 8405 6600 so that we can reach out to offer support. We also have a PAE Connect booklet which is full of comprehensive information on available services. Together, we can make a difference.
