Ever wondered what happens to old playgrounds when they're replaced? At PAE, we believe in giving them a second life! Thanks to our partnership with Rotary Adelaide, these playgrounds are off to new adventures in developing countries to replace what is pictured here.
Due to the harsh environmental conditions, playgrounds in Australia have a lifespan of about 15 years. But our playgrounds are still in great shape, so we donate them to Rotary where they are restored and shipped overseas to be enjoyed for years to come.
The latest batch of playgrounds from Rushworth Reserve, JS Morton Reserve, Mapleton Reserve, Northgate Reserve, Roy Amer Reserve, Walkley Heights Reserve, and Betty Preston Reserve, were packed up last week and are currently en route to Timor Leste. Thanks to the Rotary Clubs in Dili, these playgrounds will find new homes in regional schools, bringing joy to hundreds of children, including many who have never seen a playground before.
We're proud to be a part of this initiative, providing safe and functional playgrounds to children who need them most. Stay tuned for updates as we follow the journey of these playgrounds to their new homes! Plus over the coming weeks we will share photos of the new equipment installed at local playgrounds as part of our ongoing upgrade program.
