Saying thank you to our volunteers

Published 24th May 2024
Volunteers Week gave us the chance to say a special thank you to our 300 volunteers. See the gallery here.

It's National Volunteer Week, and on Thursday 23 May 2024, we threw a very special event at Glanville Hall to say thank you to our amazing council volunteers who have dedicated more than 25,000 hours of service to the local community over the past 12 months.

The weather was perfect, with the sun coming out just as guests were arriving. Claire Boan - Mayor of the City of PAE spoke about the history of Glanville Hall, before presenting recognition awards to some long-term volunteers.

On behalf of our community, we say thank you to every single one of you for helping to make the City of PAE better every day.

- Joanne Galley from Enfield Library received a 25 years of service award.

- Jocelyn Talmage from Port Library Local History received a 20 years of service award.

- Darryl Watkins who drives home support vans was recognised for 20 years of service.

- Denise Sanshaw who has volunteered in community programs and assisted with rollerblading at Lefevre Stadium for 20 years.

- Greg Tapp from Port Library Local History received a 10 years of service award.

- We also recognised 80 volunteers for 1 year of service to the community, and 9 volunteers who received 5 year awards.
