As part of the Living Environment Program, the Living Landscapes project aims to encourage local nature-based stories be given the opportunity to be told and shared.
We want to find out about natural spaces within PAE that are the most cherished by our community and why. We'd like you to share an image of your favourite natural landscape and tell us why this space is so special to you. With our community's help, we will select a range of images and stories submitted by our community to create a travelling exhibition that celebrates our natural landscapes.
You don't need to be a professional to get involved, you just need to have access to a phone or a camera and be able to tell us why the location you've photographed is so special to you. For more information, and a link to submit your photo, visit the Participate PAE page.
Sharon told us that Roy Amer Reserve in Oakden is her favourite living landscape, saying
"Roy Amer Reserve is a peaceful oasis and one of my favourite spots to unwind. I love strolling over the bridge through the reeds, with birds chirping and frogs croaking at dusk, adding a magical touch to the experience. The gentle walkways are ideal for families and seniors, and the vibrant birdlife—even the occasional pelican—makes it a haven for nature lovers. With open spaces for picnics, dog-friendly paths, and convenient amenities like a café, barbecues, public toilets, and parking, it’s the perfect place to relax and connect with nature right here in our community."
