Our Community Safety Team is out and about on local beaches for the summer season, ensuring everyone stays safe and can enjoy the foreshore responsibly. Here’s a quick refresher on the rules for dogs at the beach.
π Daylight Savings: Between 10am and 8pm dogs must be on a leash no longer than 2m.
π Outside these hours: Dogs can be off-leash but must be under effective control and able to be recalled at all times.
πΆββοΈ Paths and Footpaths: Dogs must always be on a leash and under control.
π³ Grassed Areas: Off-leash is allowed, but keep your dog under control and able to be recalled.
ποΈ Keep It Clean: Bring a bag and pick up after your furry friend.
π Be Respectful: Not everyone or every dog enjoys interactions so please call your dog back unless invited. Let’s keep our beaches enjoyable for all!
