Our Lefevre Community Precinct project won the 'Excellence in Community Partnerships and Collaboration' award at the Local Government Professionals awards on Friday night. The award was proudly accepted by project coordinator Peter Todd, recognising the dedication and innovation of the entire team behind this transformative initiative.
Over the past year alone, the precinct has delivered 25 programs in collaboration with more than 55 partners, reaching over 3,000 people. Feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with an average score of 5/5 for the immediate wellbeing impact of the programs they attended.
Launched in partnership with Preventive Health SA, the LCP project was created to enhance health and wellbeing outcomes for residents on the Lefevre Peninsula, through Lefevre Community Stadium. It stands as a shining example of what can be accomplished when diverse teams come together with a shared purpose to delivering long-lasting, positive impact for the community.
This project is about collaboration, bringing together the expertise and support from a wide range of council departments including Active Living, Placemaking and Activation, Children, Youth and Families, Property and Building, Parks and Gardens, Waste Management, Libraries, Environmental Health, Marketing and Communications, Community Engagement, and Community Services.
At the heart of the project is a commitment to genuine community engagement. Between March and June 2023, residents were invited to share their ideas and needs, with their feedback forming the foundation of a Wellbeing Hub Concept Plan.
Looking ahead, the Lefevre Community Precinct is set to grow even further. With strong partnerships and community backing, it is well on its way to becoming a sustainable and thriving wellbeing hub.
