As we kick National Volunteer Week for 2026 we want to recognise the positive impact PAE volunteers make on the community. Our volunteers create strong links between community and council, and strive to make our neighbourhoods positive, vibrant and healthy places to live.
In 2025 we had 307 active and diverse volunteers who recorded 27,471 volunteer hours, whose age range from 12 to 90 years-old and who have been volunteering anywhere between one to 26+ years across a variety of projects in PAE. These amazing achievements were recently celebrated at our annual Volunteer Recognition Event held at Yitpi Yartapuultiku, providing an opportunity for volunteers to gather in a place of learning, sharing and respect.
