About our Mayor and Elected Members
The Council is formed by the Mayor and 17 Elected Members (sometimes called Councillors.) The Mayor and Elected Members are elected by voters across the city and have a responsibility to the city as a whole. Each Elected Member represents one of the six wards in PAE.
All Elected Members are elected for a four-year term of office. Council elections are held every four years. The last election for the City of Port Adelaide Enfield was held in November 2022. The next election will be held in 2026, at which time all positions will become vacant.
Decisions made at a formal Council meeting provide the direction and authority for the organisation's ongoing operations. These decisions give direction to the CEO and are implemented by staff.
Meetings also allow the Mayor and other Council Members to decide the Council's policy direction and make decisions on statutory matters.
Council is a corporate body and can only make decisions by resolution. This means a motion must be put to a properly-convened meeting and can only be passed by a majority vote.
Contacting the Mayor or a Elected Member
