Historic Reserve Information
Catherine Stewart Hutton (1880-1963) was born in Stirling Scotland and migrated to South Australia in 1911. In 1912 Miss Hutton purchased her property for seventy six pounds and lived in a small red house made of galvanised iron, behind Lady Gowrie Drive near the entrance to the North Haven Marina. During the 1940's and 1950's she was well-known for her goat farm on the Lefevre Peninsula and was affectionately known as "the goat lady". The goat farm was lost to urban spread in the 1960's and she continued to live in the area until her passing.
