Historic Reserve Information
Mr Brian Doherty has a long association with the open space that we now call Dingley Dell. After tireless campaigning, he successfully overturned a decision for this land to become high density living. Instead, the land was offered and sold as open space to the City of PAE in the early 2000's. It was then renamed after a small well-loved delicatessen that previously existed on Main North Road. We have Mr Doherty to thank for his efforts and persistence, which have resulted in this area remaining open for the community to continue to enjoy for years to come.
The name Dingley Dell had been suggested for the reserve for it's historical association and because it conjures up the image of the sort of park it should be, a happy idyllic welcoming space.
