Historic Reserve Information
Plano Park was opened in 1986 and was named in honor of Enfield's sister city at the time which was Plano in Texas. The park opening was attended by Maribelle Davis, a librarian from Plano, who was the official Plano representative to South Australia. During her visit to the opening she was hosted by Enfield's Jubilee secretary Roy Thompson and his wife Fay. While here Maribelle and her husband Reeves also enjoyed the local historical society's tour of Enfield, watched the Grand Prix on television at the civic centre and visited a number of libraries.
