Historic Reserve Information
Richard Day (1818-1900) migrated to South Australia in 1838 with very little money and gradually became a respected and influential settler through agriculture and land investment. Richard's land purchases include the Tam O'Shanter belt, now the suburb of Regency Park. Here he built a substantial house and outbuildings now called Sunnybrae Farm. He also bought land at Cheltennham, Croydon, to link them together Richard bought a strip of land which he turned into a track which has become Days Rd. Richard serves as Councillor for the Yatala District Council where he serves from 1859 to 1860, 1864 to 1865 and 1872 to 1874, this area later became part of the Enfield Council.
