Seat will remain vacant until periodic Council election in November

On 1 April 2026, David Wilkins was elected to the House of Assembly for the seat of Lee. In accordance with section 54(1)(e) of the Local Government Act 1999, this has resulted in a casual vacancy in the office of Councillor for Semaphore Ward.

A supplementary election will not occur, as the vacancy has occurred within 12 months of the next periodic election, to be held in November 2026.

Council thanks David Wilkins for his service to the City of Port Adelaide Enfield and congratulates him on his election to the Parliament of South Australia.
