Community Bus

Our Community Bus Service provides a free service for residents living within the City of Port Adelaide Enfield to help you to get locations local areas in your community at no cost! This is a service offered by the City of Port Adelaide Enfield and proudly driven by volunteer drivers.

There are two types of ways to catch the Community Bus, either on one of the fixed Hail & Ride Circuits or on one of the Dial & Ride route services.

Hail & Ride Circuits

For timetable information including pick up times on a Community Bus running in your area please click on the link below for the circuit that is in your suburb area.

You can read or download copy direct from this site or alternatively visit your local library, community centre or contact 8405 6086 to access a printed copy.

There is no requirement to book a pick-up for this service. The Hail & Ride Circuits will pick up passengers from anywhere along the circuit prior to the timetabled pick-up time. Times listed are approximate only and may vary due to unforeseen circumstances. Please check website for any circuit timetable updates or cancellations.

The Community Bus will not pick up from any Adelaide Metro bus stop or from a location that the bus can not legally or safely stop.

Our community buses provide transport to regional shopping centres, libraries and other facilities. The buses are driven by accredited volunteer drivers who are committed to providing a high quality service to their community. If you are keen to become a community bus driver, please contact us.

Bus Services - Charter - on hold until further notice

Eligibility
Available for locally based, not for profit organisations or community groups with otherwise limited access to affordable group transport services. All hirers must agree to the conditions of hire.

Destination
Must be within 100km radius of the Council Depot at Kilburn, although no limit is set on total distance travelled.

Booking procedures
To book a Community Bus it is essential that you contact the Community Programs Officer on (08) 8405 6804 or email prior to making any arrangements. The Community Buses are used by many community groups and advance planning is recommended

Dial & Ride Service

This service will pick up directly outside your property where possible. To use this service, bookings are required prior to 5pm Monday the week of the pick-up.

Basic personal details will be collected at time of booking.

Available for bookings from these listed suburbs:
Valley View, Gilles Plains, Oakden, Lightsview, Northgate, Hillcrest, Greenacres, Hampstead Gardens, Manningham, Holden Hill, Windsor Gardens & Klemzig.

Route 4 – Wednesday Only
Available for bookings from these listed suburbs:
North Haven, Osborne, Taperoo, Largs North, Largs Bay, Peterhead, Birkenhead, Exeter, Semaphore, Glanville, Newport, Semaphore South, Ethelton, Port Adelaide, Ottoway, Rosewater, Alberton and Queenstown.

Community Bus Charter Service

The Community Buses are available to charter to local community groups that are based solely within the City of Port Adelaide Enfield that have limited access to affordable transport. Times and availability may vary. For further information please click on the Community Bus Charter Booking Form.
