Financial Information

The financial management of the Council covers such broad topics as:

  • Production of the annual budget;
  • Production of the annual financial statements;
  • Raising and collection of rates;
  • Investment of Council funds;
  • Raising and administering of Council borrowing;
  • Maintenance of statutory registers; and
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Fees and Charges

Each year, the Council reviews the discretionary fees and charges that apply to the goods/services supplied.

Annual Business Plan

The City of Port Adelaide Enfield plays an important role in the community, providing and maintaining essential infrastructure and services to the community. Each year Council undertakes a comprehensive business planning process to ensure we continue to enhance the City to meet the needs of the community whilst ensuring proper stewardship of our resources.

The Annual Business Plan is our statement of intended programs, activities and outcomes we are planning for the coming financial year. The plan defines the continuing service programs and strategic directions embodied in the City Plan 2030 and other plans including the Corporate Plan, Long Term Financial Plan and Long Term Infrastructure and Asset Management Plans.

Annual Financial Statements

The Local Government Act, 1999 requires Councils to prepare for each fiscal year:

  • An income statement
  • A balance sheet as at the end of the fiscal year
  • A statement of changes in equity
  • A statement of cash flows and appropriate notes and other explanatory documentation to be read in conjunction with the statements referred to above
  • Other statements or documentation relating to the financial affairs of the Council required by the regulations

The statements must be prepared according to the requirements of Australian Accounting Standards.
