Public and Environmental Health

Our Environmental Health Officers are involved in monitoring various aspects of the community in order to ensure public health is maintained. Regular inspections of food premises, public swimming pools, hairdressers and tattooists are undertaken along with investigations of concerns in regard to food, vermin and insanitary properties. In this section you will also find information related to the control of pests and vermin in homes and businesses.

Adelaide Brighton Cement Community Liaison Group (CLG)

City of Port Adelaide Enfield hosts meetings at our Town Hall offices for the Adelaide Brighton Cement Community Liaison Group.

The Adelaide Brighton Cement Community Liaison Group (CLG) was established in August 2006, to address environmental and amenity issues arising from the Adelaide Brighton Cement Birkenhead site which is licensed under the Environment Protection Act 1993 to operate a cement works at Victoria Road, Birkenhead.

The meetings include representatives from:

  • Adelaide Brighton Cement Management representation
  • Local residents
  • City of Port Adelaide Enfield Council Representative
  • Elected Councillor representing the electorate
  • Environmental Protection Authority
  • Port Adelaide Residents Environment Protection Group
  • Any local resident is invited to attend the CLG meetings as a visitor
