Mobile Food

Our mobile food vending program offers permits to mobile food businesses to operate in six designated areas to add to the vibrancy and vitality of outdoor places and experiences.

To be eligible to apply for a mobile food vending permit:

  • The mobile food vending vehicle must meet the meaning of a vehicle as defined in the Road Traffic Act 1961 which includes a van, truck, trailer and bicycle.
  • Sell food and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Be able to trade solely from the mobile food vending vehicle without the requirements of additional infrastructure being placed into the public space.
  • All advertising is affixed to the mobile food vending vehicle and not encroach into the public space.
  • The mobile food vending vehicle is in good repair.

Mobile food vendors can choose to obtain an annual permit at a cost of $1,122.00 or a monthly permit for $112.00.

An application can be made online or in person.

You will need to submit the following documents as part of your application:

  • A Certificate of Currency of your Public Liability Insurance with a minimum cover of $20 million, noting City of Port Adelaide Enfield as an interested party.
  • Your Food Business Notification Number

Your mobile food vending permit application will take seven working days to process.
