The City of Port Adelaide Enfield is committed to giving young people opportunities, information and support. We strive to make the local area a great place for young people to work, live, study or play in.

This page aims to connect young people to a wide range of activities, events, projects, services and information as well as giving you the opportunity to have input into what happens in your local area. Reconnect provides one-to-one counselling services for young people aged between 12 and 18 who are experiencing difficulties that may cause family breakdown or homelessness. They can also provide support to the young person's family, guardian or carer and mediate family issues, so everyone can have their say in a fair and respectful manner. Reconnect is an outreach service which means a youth worker can meet you in an appropriate place. The Reconnect team also deliver group programs for young people and parents.

If you're a young person and you're finding that school, family, relationships, Centrelink, work or anything else are bothering you? Our Outreach Service is designed to give young people and their families the support they may need from trained counselling staff. Just give us a call during business hours to make an appointment.

We believe that everyone should have access to education, training and employment opportunities.

Council offers work experience opportunities for local young people. The City of Port Adelaide Enfield has five libraries, with a collection of resources to assist you with your study. Our libraries provide more than just books. They have computers, videos, DVDs, CDs, magazines and sports equipment. The libraries are located at Enfield, Greenacres, Parks (Angle Park), Port Adelaide and Semaphore.

You can find info on your local primary schools, high schools, tertiary and adult education opportunities within the Council area via the links below. TAFE SA is the biggest provider of vocational education and training in South Australia. There are over 800 different courses at TAFE in a range of areas. TAFE SA has locations all over South Australia and you can study either part time or full time. You can even do VET courses while you're at school.

Studying at university is another option for tertiary education. There are 3 main universities in South Australia. SATAC stands for the South Australia Tertiary Admissions Centre. SATAC process all the applications for TAFE SA and the Universities of South Australia and also the Charles Darwin University.

Keeping active and building social networks are important. We believe all sport and recreation activities should be available and affordable for the entire community.
