Creative Industry Grant

This program aims to support many creative practices including visual arts and crafts, music, film, literature, performance and experimental arts.

The Creative Industry Grants have been designed to support creative practitioners of all disciplines to grow their practice and deliver projects that contribute to PAE’s vision for a strong, creative, impactful and sustainable arts ecology. You can find out more about this vision in our Arts & Culture Strategy and Creative Port Plan.

Grants of up to $5,000 are available to help deliver projects that support emerging creative practice through the creation and/or presentation of new work or smaller-scale performance outcomes within the City of PAE. Matched funding is not required.

Example project ideas:

  • Visual and performing arts - Exhibitions, installations, creative workshops (ie. art, photography, music, dance, theatre and more), performance (including dance, theatre), or other creative programs
  • Music - Creation, production and performance of original live music, including live music performance series, recording, music video production, micro-festivals
  • Film - Shooting and production of noncommercial films (ie. shorts, documentaries) in the PAE area, music video production, film screenings

Timeframes

Applications are processed as they are received. We aim to notify you within four weeks following your submission.

Creative Industry Grants are now closed as the 2023-24 budget allocation for this program is fully exhausted. The program will reopen in July 2024.

Eligibility & Assessment criteria

Creative Industry Grants are available to applicants who:

  • Are a legal entity with an active ABN and appropriate public liability insurance ($20 million)
  • Are delivering their project in the PAE area
  • Have no outstanding debts with PAE
  • have satisfactorily acquitted any previous funding received by PAE (if applicable)
  • Please note: you do not need to be a resident of PAE to apply for our Creative Industry Grants

How to apply

We provide an online application tool to help you prepare and submit your application. It's called SmartyGrants and it's available via the Apply Now button below. If you're a new user, you will need to start by registering a new account. Once registered and logged in you will be redirected to the "Before you Begin" page where you can start your application.

Applicants can only apply online when funding rounds are open. Support or access to computers and the internet can be provided if required.
