Environmental Grants

Our Environmental Grants Program encourages environmental project initiatives that will protect and enhance the sustainability and environment of the local area.

We are seeking to support innovative projects that will make high, long-term, positive and measurable improvements to our local environment that deliver on one or more of the following focus areas:

  • Accelerate actions to adapt to climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emission
  • Collaborate to improve City greening and biodiversity
  • Manage energy, water, and waste resources sustainably
  • Protect and restore our rivers, coast, water dependent and estuarine environments
  • Empower community-led approaches to environmental and climate change learning and action

Timeframes

Applications are currently closed.

Please note that all applications will be assessed on comparative merit after the round has closed. We aim to notify you of the outcome of your application within four weeks of the round closing date.

How much can you apply for?

Eligible applicants can apply for between $2,000 (minimum) to $5,000 (maximum), with a reasonable and proportional contribution from the applicant (financial, material or in-kind).

Eligibility & Assessment criteria

Environmental Grants are available to applicants who:

  • Have an active ABN and appropriate public liability insurance
  • Are a not-for-profit, properly constituted and incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act (1985) or have another comparable legal status. Projects submitted by non-incorporated groups will need to seek an Auspice sponsor for their grant (i.e. non-for-profit organisation)
  • Clearly demonstrate alignment to the program aim and at least one focus area
  • Show collaboration between individuals or groups that connect with the broader PAE community and demonstrate that the project will add value to existing projects and programs
  • Deliver a project occurring within the City of PAE

Each application will be assessed against the following criteria:

How to apply

We provide an online application tool to help you prepare and submit your application. It's called SmartyGrants and it's available via the Apply Now button below. If you're a new user, you will need to start by registering a new account. Once registered and logged in you will be redirected to the "Before you Begin" page where you can start your application.

Applicants can only apply online when funding rounds are open. Support or access to computers and the internet can be provided if required.
