Sport and Recreation Grants
The aim of our Sport & Recreation Grant Program is to encourage active lifestyles in the local community by supporting organisations to deliver sporting or recreation opportunities for the benefit of the PAE community.

Applications will be assessed in March and September with opening and closing dates listed below. If you can demonstrate why your application is urgent and should be assessed outside of this, please contact us to discuss. We aim to notify you within four weeks of the closing date.

What Funding options are there?
Applicants can apply for up to $1000 for activities and purchases that clearly demonstrate alignment to the program aim and one focus area. The total funding pool adopted by Council for the Sporting Club Grant Program in the 2020/21 financial year is $15,000.
We are seeking to support sporting or recreation activities that deliver on one of the following focus areas:
- Children under 9 where the opportunity is based in Ottoway ,Wingfield, Taperoo, Osborne, Croydon Park, Devon Park, Dudley Park, Largs Bay, Kilburn, Regency Park, Northfield, Ferryden Park, Mansfield Park, Greenacres, Hampstead Gardens, Angle Park, Blair Athol, Klemzig, Largs North, Rosewater or Hillcrest.
- Professional Development for committee members to improve club governance where the club can demonstrate a clear need
- Non-playing skills/ professional development for under 30’s linked to employment or longer-term club sustainability
- Youth participation, specifically to ensure ongoing engagement in activities for students 10-17 years
- People from Culturally & Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities
- People from low-medium income households
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- People living with a Disability
- Women and girls
- People over 50
Eligibility & Assessment criteria
Eligible applicants must be not-for-profit, properly constituted and incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act (1985) or have another comparable legal status. Please see our guidelines for more details on eligibility. Eligible applications will be assessed against the following criteria:
|1||Promotes and supports an opportunity for a marginalised group i.e. increases accessibility and/or inclusion.||40%|

|4||Reasonable and proportional contribution (in kind, material or financial)||20%|
Some examples of eligible activities are as follows:
- Purchase of club uniforms for juniors to subsidise fees of the club
- Tournaments/competitions for people with financial and other barriers to participating in organised sport
- Child Safe Environments training for new coaches
- Pedometer challenges
- Governance training
- First aid training or other training
- Playgroup in the park
- Establishment of a new running or walking group
- Purchase of sports equipment for junior or over 50s teams

We provide an online application tool to help you prepare and submit your application. It's called SmartyGrants and it's available via the Apply Now button below. If you're a new user, you will need to start by registering a new account. Once registered and logged in you will be redirected to the "Before you Begin" page where you can start your application.
Applicants can only apply online when funding rounds are open. Support or access to computers and the internet can be provided if required.

North Haven Cricket Club were approved $750 to purchase cricket uniforms for the girl's cricket team.
Valley View Soccer Club Inc. were approved $675 to purchase uniforms and training balls
Port Adelaide Athletics Club were approved $750 to purchase uniforms
Port District Football Cricket Club were approved $739 to purchase guernseys
North Adelaide Basketball Club were approved $740 to purchase coaches bags
Port Adelaide Tennis Club were approved $750 to purchase specially designed tennis balls for juniors
North Adelaide Lacrosse Club were approved $614 to purchase goal keeper gloves
Port Adelaide Softball Club were approved $750 to purchase first aid kits, eskies and benches
West Adelaide Bearcats Basketball Club Ltd were approved $743 to facilitate the development of the early years programs
Allegro Rhythmic Gymnastics were approved $731 to purchase rhythmic gymnastics balls
North Haven Surf Life Saving Club were approved $730 to purchase beach flags and boards for the nippers
Port Adelaide Cricket Club were approved $750 to purchase uniforms
Port District Football Cricket Club were approved $750 to purchase bats, balls, stumps and training equipment
Portland Football Club were approved $750 to purchase a full set of team guernseys
West Lakes & Districts Little Athletics Centre were approved $750 to purchase collapsible hurdles
Semaphore Centrals Netball Club were approved $750 to purchase uniforms
Port Adelaide Netball Association were approved $750 to purchase netball bibs and balls
Port Adelaide District Hockey Club Inc. were approved $750 to purchase goalkeeping equipment
The North Haven Football Club Inc. were approved $750 to purchase junior footballs
Gaza Sports & Community Club Inc. were approved $750 to purchase junior footballs
Western Districts Junior Rugby Union Football Club were approved $750 to purchase rugby playing kits for the under 7, 8 and 10 teams
3BallSA Basketball Association Inc. were approved $717 to purchase basketballs
Largs Bay RSL Gymnastics Club Inc. were approved $654 to purchase spotting block.
Port Adelaide District Baseball Club were approved $650 to purchase tops and hats
Allegro Rhythmic Gymnastics were approved $750 to purchase rhythmic gymnastics equipment
